Dear Patient,
My name is Yiping Song and on behalf of everyone here at the clinic, I would like to announce that I will be joining the team! Before we meet for the first time on your next visit, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
Dentistry has been a part of my life for decades. I have practiced here in Greater Vancouver, in the United States, as well as in China. I completed my first dental degree in China where I subsequently practiced and taught in a medical university. In 2002 I arrived in Canada with my husband Ian and young son Kevin. As immigrants we have always felt deep gratitude for the way this country welcomed us with open arms. Today, I am immensely proud to be citizen to a nation that is hard-working yet humble, diverse yet tolerant, but above all full of kindness to others and respect for the community.
I first worked for several years as a research associate at UBC’s School of Dentistry, but always felt drawn to the community purpose of clinical dentistry. In 2009 I re-certified with another dental degree from Loma Linda University in California. After practicing for a while in Los Angeles, we moved back to Vancouver in 2010 and eventually settled in South Surrey where we fell in love with its natural beauty and vibrant sense of community.
I feel very fortunate that Dr. Tina Alexander chose me to continue providing you with dental care. This clinic has all the qualities that I value such as a history of honest service, a patient-first approach, and a dedicated staff. With Dr. Alexander’s assistance in the transition and the help of Josée, Michelle, Dianne, Karen and Safé who will all be staying on, I am confident that we will deliver to you nothing but the highest standard of honest one-on-one dental care to ensure both your comfort and peace of mind.
